August Pfluger's tweets reflect reactions to Trump's congressional address

August Pfluger, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 11th district since 2021, shared several updates on social media regarding President Trump's recent joint address to Congress. Born in Houston in 1978, Pfluger currently resides in San Angelo.

On March 5, 2025, Pfluger highlighted the presence of a special guest at the event: "DJ is one of President Trump’s guests tonight for his joint address to Congress. He was diagnosed with brain cancer and given five months to live — and that was six years ago. President Trump just made him an honorary member of the U.S. Secret Service!"

In another post on the same day, Pfluger referred to the significance of Trump's speech: "President Trump just delivered a historic address to Congress. Read my full statement here."

Later that day, Pfluger expressed his disappointment with some of his colleagues while affirming his national pride: "Proud to be an American Sad that my Democrat colleagues couldn’t stand for anything last night - not even for Laken Riley’s family. I stood for President Joe Biden - out of respect for the office - he tried to destroy our country, but despite their sad disrespect we will…"
