Rep. August Pfluger's discussions focus on student-athletes and university leaders

Rep. August Pfluger, currently serving as the representative for Texas’ 11th congressional district, shared a series of tweets highlighting recent engagements and meetings with academic and athletic figures. Pfluger, born in Houston and residing in San Angelo, has served in Congress since replacing Mike Conaway in 2021.

On April 10, 2025, Rep. Pfluger tweeted, expressing patriotic sentiment with a series of American flag emojis "".

Shortly after, he tweeted about his conversations with the Presidents, Athletic Directors, and Coaches from Texas A&M University and University of Texas at Austin. He mentioned being impressed by the student-athletes, noting their current leadership roles and potential future contributions "Great conversations with @TAMU and @UTAustin Presidents, Athletic Directors, and Coaches yesterday! Truly impressed by the student athletes who are leaders on the field and court but will be leaders in our country tomorrow!".

On April 11, 2025, Rep. Pfluger posted about his meeting with the Athletic Directors from Texas Christian University and Texas Tech University. He acknowledged their advocacy efforts for student-athletes within the Big 12 Conference "Great meeting with @TCU Athletic Director Mike Buddie and @TexasTech Athletic Director Kirby Hocutt during their visit to Capitol Hill. Thank you for being strong advocates for our student athletes in the @Big12Conference!".

August Pfluger has been active in Congress, representing Texas's 11th district since 2021. He is recognized for engaging with educational leaders and sporting authorities to advocate for student-athletes' interests.
