Rep. August Pfluger, representing Texas' 11th district in the U.S. Congress, has made an array of statements on social media concerning veterans' welfare, border security, and local support initiatives. Since succeeding Mike Conaway in 2021, Rep. Pfluger has focused on these and other issues. The following are recent tweets from Rep. Pfluger, reflecting his priorities and actions.
On April 2, 2025, Rep. Pfluger expressed concern about veteran suicide rates, noting, "Nearly 17 veterans take their own lives every single day. This is unacceptable which is why I participated in a press conference this morning to voice my support for @RepLuttrell's SAVES Act to ensure vets can receive the trained service dogs they need in a timely fashion."
The following day, on April 3, 2025, Rep. Pfluger offered strong praise for the Trump Administration regarding border security achievements. He stated, "I applaud @realtomhoman and the entire Trump Administration for their incredible work securing our border. This report reveals record-low numbers, and America is safer, stronger, and more secure because of their leadership. "
Later on the same day, Rep. Pfluger acknowledged Dana Perino's contributions to the Laura Bush Institute during her visit to San Angelo. He said, "Shout out to @DanaPerino for making the journey to San Angelo and for all the work she is doing to support the Laura Bush Institute! Camille and I are grateful for you!"
