Palo Pinto County schools enrolled 4,707 students during 2023-24 school year

There were 4,707 students enrolled in Palo Pinto County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 0.5% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

At the time, Palo Pinto County had the 100th largest enrollment in the state.

Data also showed that white students made up 58.2% of the student body, the largest percentage in Palo Pinto County schools, followed by Hispanic students at 35.3%, Black students at 2.3%, Asian students at 0.7%, American Indian students at 0.3%, Pacific Islander students at 0.1% and multiracial students at 3.1%.

A recent study by WalletHub classified Texas as one of the least-educated states in the U.S., ranking it 41st out of 50 in educational quality and student outcomes.
