U.S. Representative August Pfluger, serving Texas' 11th district and representing the oil-rich Permian Basin, has been vocal about America's energy policies in recent statements on social media. His remarks focus on the role of American natural gas in reducing emissions and suggest a potential shift in international climate agreements.

On November 19, 2024, Rep. Pfluger highlighted the impact of American natural gas on global emission reductions. He stated, "American natural gas has helped us reduce emissions more than any other nation, and we have the capacity to continue helping our allies reduce their emissions by exporting clean, reliable sources like LNG and nuclear,” emphasizing the importance of exporting these resources to assist allies.

In another post from the same date, Pfluger expressed support for former President Donald Trump's energy policies. He remarked that “Last week, people in the United States overwhelmingly supported President Donald Trump’s promise to restore America’s energy dominance and lead the world in energy expansion,” indicating public backing for a resurgence of U.S. leadership in global energy markets.

Further asserting his stance on international climate agreements, Pfluger suggested a reconsideration of U.S. involvement with past accords. On November 19, he mentioned that as part of his leadership within the GOP's COP delegation and as head of the House's energy committee, he is advocating for a potential withdrawal from the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement.
