There were 4 African American students enrolled in Ranger ISD schools in 2022-23 school year

There were four African American students enrolled in Ranger ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 55.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Ranger ISD schools welcomed 323 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 1.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Ranger ISD roughly covers schools within Eastland County and has a main office in Ranger.

Among the three schools in Ranger ISD schools, Ranger High School recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of three students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
