There were 28 Hispanic students enrolled in Sidney ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 22.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Sidney ISD schools welcomed 124 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 22.6% of the student body to be the least represented ethnicity in the district.

Sidney ISD roughly covers schools within Comanche County and has a main office in Sidney.

Sidney School was the only school in the district which enrolled Hispanic students, welcoming 28 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
