There were 183 students enrolled in Rising Star ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 55.7% of them were girls, and 44.3% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 77% of the Rising Star ISD total enrollment.

Rising Star ISD roughly covers schools within Eastland County with its main office in Rising Star.

Among the two schools in Rising Star ISD, Rising Star Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 94 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
