58 percent of applicants to Howard Payne University were admitted for fall 2018

At Howard Payne University, 85 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 54 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Brownwood enrolled 1,027 students in fall 2018, including 962 in undergraduate and 65 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

98 percent of undergraduates are residents of Texas.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (53 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (24 percent).

The school admitted 58 percent of the 1,576 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 29 percent enrolled.
