GRADUATION PLAN FOR BROOKESMITH ISD
MAY 29, 2020
8TH & 12TH GRADES
BROOKESMITH FOOTBALL FIELD
PARENT/CROWD GUIDELINES
- 8th grade graduation will start at 6:00 p.m.
- 8th grade students and their parents/families will arrive through the gate next to the concession stand, which will open at 5:30 p.m.
- 8th grade students, parents/families will exit out the same gate when the ceremony ends.
- 12th grade graduation will start at 7:00 p.m.
- 12th grade students and their parents/families will arrive through the front gate of the school, which will open at 6:30 p.m.
- 12th grade students, parents/families will exit out the same gate when the ceremony ends.
- Parents/families will have designated parking spots on the home side of the football field.
- Only 2 vehicles are allowed per family and vehicles must park right behind each other in the designated spot.
- Parents/families must remain in their vehicle until their student’s name is called. At that time they can leave their vehicle to take pictures (when taking pictures you must remain 10 feet apart) then they will need to return to their vehicle.
- When the ceremony is over the graduates will walk to their parents/families vehicle to exit.
- Rehearsal is not permitted.
- Videos of both 8th and 12th grade ceremonies will be put on Brookesmith ISD Facebook page; no music will be attached due to copyright laws.
- Pictures will be taken of both 8th and 12th grade ceremonies by Mrs. Barrow, and the pictures will be emailed to the graduates school email address.
- Both the home and visitors football stands are off limits.
- Hand sanitizer will be placed around the football field for your use.
- All restrooms will be closed.
- There will not be a reception for either ceremony.
- Face Masks upon discretion.
- Law Enforcement will be at both graduation ceremonies to enforce social distancing.
8TH GRADE STUDENT GUIDELINES
- Students will arrive before 6:00 p.m. and will line up in front of the football field in alphabetical order. When the music starts, students will walk six feet apart to their designated seat.
- When the student’s name is called, they will receive their certificate and then return to their seat.
- When the ceremony is over the graduates will go to their parents/families vehicle to leave.
12TH GRADE STUDENT GUIDELINES
- Students will arrive between 6:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. in their cap and gown.
- Students need to remain in their parents/families vehicle until 6:45 p.m. At 6:45 p.m. the student will line up (6-8 feet apart) in alphabetical order by the old concession stand for pictures (parents/families are not allowed).
- After pictures, the students will line up (6-8 feet apart) in alphabetical order in front of the home football stands.
- When Pomp and Circumstance is played, students will walk to the middle of the football field to their designated seat.
- When the student’s name is called, the student will walk to the podium to receive their diploma, and then will return to their seat (at this time parents/family can take pictures).
- During the rose ceremony the students will walk to their parent’s/family’s vehicle to hand out the roses and then return to their seat.
- After the ceremony the graduate will exit in alphabetical order, staying 6-8 feet apart, and return to their parent’s/family’s vehicle.
