Enrollment Analysis: American Indian students comprised 0.4% of Comanche ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were six American Indian students enrolled in Comanche ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 20% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Comanche ISD schools welcomed 1,339 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.4% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Comanche ISD roughly covers schools within Comanche County and has a main office in Comanche.

Among the four schools in Comanche ISD schools, Comanche High School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of four students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
