Enrollment Analysis: white students comprised 46.1% of Brownwood ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 1,586 white students enrolled in Brownwood ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Brownwood ISD schools welcomed 3,443 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 46.1% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Brownwood ISD roughly covers schools within Brown County and has a main office in Brownwood.

Among the seven schools in Brownwood ISD schools, Brownwood High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 461 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
