There were 794 students enrolled in Coleman ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.1% of them were girls, and 49.9% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 66% of the Coleman ISD total enrollment.

Coleman ISD roughly covers schools within Coleman County with its main office in Coleman.

Among the three schools in Coleman ISD, Coleman Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 339 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
