There were 1,304 students enrolled in Comanche ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 1.1% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.5% of them were boys, and 48.5% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 52.8% of the Comanche ISD total enrollment.

Comanche ISD roughly covers schools within Comanche County with its main office in Comanche.

Among the four schools in Comanche ISD, Comanche Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 616 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
