Upper Brazos Basin
- Nov. 7: GRANBURY – First Saturday Bird Walk, 7 – 9 a.m. at Acton Nature Center, 6500 Smoky Hill Court, Granbury
Dr. Billy Teels, who earned a Ph.D. in Wildlife Ecology from Mississippi State University and after working as a biologist for 30 years is now retired, leads a monthly bird walk through the town of Granbury. Bring your binoculars and plenty of water! For more information, click here.
- Nov. 12: ABILENE – Living Pilgrim Experience, 6:30 – 9 p.m. at 810 Butternut Street, Abilene
Immerse yourself into the lives of the Pilgrims when they traveled to America nearly 400 years ago. Guests are encouraged to dress as Pilgrims and will draw a name of one of the voyagers and learn their fate at the end of the event. Scenes of planting corn, traveling on the Mayflower and the first Thanksgiving are included in this festive event. Tickets for adults are $5, ages 5 to 17 are $3 and free for ages 4 and younger. - Nov. 14-15: GRANBURY – Harvest Moon Festival of the Arts at 201 E Pearl St, Granbury
Enjoy the historic Granbury Downtown Square during the Harvest Moon Festival of the Arts. This long-running festival will showcase 30 different artists, craftspeople and more. There will also be food, local entertainment and more. This event is free to attend. To learn more, click here.
- Nov. 8: STEPHENVILLE – Fall Festival at Great American Lone Star Ranch, 10 a.m. – Dusk at 5396 S US Hwy 281, Stephenville
Experience the first-ever Fall Festival at the beautiful Great American Lone Star Ranch in Stephenville. With a petting farm, animal races, corn hole, pedal tractors, a pumpkin patch and more, this is the perfect fall event for the whole family! - Nov. 10: TPWD Bass Fishing: Lure Rigs Virtual Class, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
Calling beginner anglers! This free online class will help increase your knowledge of bass fishing. Including a live demonstration of how to rig, TPWD Angler Education Instructor Stacy Holt will teach you everything you need to know about bass fishing rigs. A Q&A will follow the hour-long online session. All ages are welcome to join in, but participants who are ages 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required.
