Erath County United Way has started a COVID-19 Response & Relief Fund, aiming to help families most impacted by the pandemic.
According to its website, the organization has also vowed to match any donations received, up to $25,000. The money raised will go toward help with utilities, housing, food and other crucial needs.
“We understand that COVID-19 has disrupted lives in our community," Staci King, Erath County United Way president, said. "As an organization whose entire mission is to mobilize community resources to help people improve their lives, we feel it is our duty to work proactively to raise funds for those in this emergency situation. As the long-term impacts unfold, we will continue to work with our partners to assess and evolve our funding strategies.”
Those interested in donating can do so at the Erath County United Way website. They can also contribute to an account at Citizens National Bank of Texas, or mail a check to Erath County United Way, 150 North Harbin Drive, Suite No. 309. Donors are asked to write “COVID19 Response & Relief Fund” in the check's memo space.
