Blanket ISD issued the following announcement.
Please take a few minutes to read these important announcements about our school closure extension through April 3, 2020, and our transition to off campus instruction.
In concurrence with the latest information from national and state health officials and in conjunction with Brown County and Coleman County schools, Blanket ISD administration has decided that Blanket ISD will suspend normal district operations.
Suspension of normal district operations means that Blanket ISD will implement the remote instructional plan that was conveyed on March 17th. Remote instruction will begin on March 23rd. At that time, students will begin work on instructional packets that will be supplied to them. In order for students to receive the books, supplies, and technology they need to successfully work on the packets, we are asking that you and your students begin making plans to come to campus to pick up supplies.
Faculty and staff will attempt to have everything gathered and ready to pick up beginning on Friday, March 20th at 1:00 PM. Instructional supply pick up will occur in the following locations:
• High school students should come to the high school hallway;
• Junior High students should come to the gym foyer;
• Elementary students will go to their classroom The student does not have to be present for instructional supply pick up; parents/guardians can pick up supplies.
After this first week, the students will simply need to pick up a packet and turn in the prior week’s packet. ONLY the first week will necessitate picking up supplies AND instructional packets.
Remote instruction will continue through April 3, 2020. This is a quickly changing situation, and we will continue to monitor information, will assess conditions throughout the week, and will provide the next update via our district website and email.
Thank you for your support and cooperation as we ensure that all members of the Blanket community stay safe and healthy.
